Take an adventure boat excursion beneath the 300m high dolerite columns of Cape Pillar, Australia’s highest vertical sea cliffs, and past the monumental rock formations of Tasman Island. The magnificent cliffs of this isolated, windswept rock mark the turning point for the iconic Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. Perched on top is one of Australia’s most inaccessible light stations.

Explore sea caves, navigate deep chasms, see surging seas and pass by a waterfall that plunges down sheer cliff into the ocean. Keep your eyes peeled for working sea birds, colonies of seals and pods of playful dolphins.

From Fortescue Bay, get a landlubbers perspective of the cliffs on a 4-hour return clifftop walk to Cape Hauy (part of the renowned Three Capes Track). From the beach, stoney steps ascend to the cliffs of the cape, through woodlands and heath containing an abundance of wildflowers.

At the Cape Hauy lookout, peer down to a restless ocean and across to the spectacular dolerite stacks of the Totem Pole and Candlestick.
