The focus at Sal Salis is the surrounding wilderness and its marine and land inhabitants, with 15 spacious wilderness tents designed to blend in with the beachfront surrounds, all with direct reef access and uninterrupted views to the horizon. See what’s included in every stay
With 15 spacious wilderness tents and one honeymoon tent sitting lightly and discreetly amongst the dunes overlooking the reef, Sal Salis provides a genuinely privileged place from which to explore Western Australia’s Coral Coast and reconnect with nature at its best.
The social heart of the camp includes lounge, bar and library areas. Chef-prepared meals are served communally. At night guests can lie out on the beach to stare up at the Milky Way and a canopy of stars stretching across the southern hemisphere night skies.
The camp is primarily solar powered and there is no air-conditioning, mini bar, television or modern appliances in the tents – the focus is on the surrounding wilderness and the opportunity to reconnect with nature.
Each safari tent has an ensuite bathroom with an eco-friendly toilet and hot water shower as well as supremely comfortable beds and views of the Indian Ocean.
A third person can be accommodated in a swag bed – the traditional bed roll of the Australian bushman, these are the deluxe version and are very comfortable, particularly for younger travellers.
In this pristine and beautiful wilderness region Sal Salis takes great care to protect the fragile ecosystem. The luxury here is in the wilderness experience and the opportunity to reconnect with nature and the environment. Safari guides are on hand to provide an immersive wilderness experience, and the ritual of sundowners is a time of laughter, sharing of exceptional local knowledge and wonder at the inimitability of Ningaloo.
