The colours are really a guide but not a definitive code. Blue for water based or island, Green for country, mountains or wine regions, Brown for the ‘outback’ or interior. But some of the kangaroos really should be multi-colour!

Many of the lodges are family friendly and have incredible age-appropriate experiences for families of all ages to enjoy together. View child policies on each lodge’s FAQ page.

Most of the lodges have at least one wildlife experience or connection. Some of them are pure heaven for wildlife junkies.

The outback is a broad term meaning almost anywhere in the interior of this island continent. However the outback has a variety of characters – the Red Centre, the dramatic landscapes of the Ikara – Flinders Ranges and the vast wilderness of The Kimberley.

You don’t have to go to the outback for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experienceMany of the Luxury Lodges have the privilege of showcasing the oldest continuing culture in the world through the depth and diversity of experiences that connect guests to Country and our First Nations peoples.
